Study at Arizona State 

Our mission at the ASU horn studio is to strive for excellence in performance and to encourage and challenge each other in a supportive atmosphere. 

Arizona State University is a great place to study horn! ASU has been the home of one of the leading brass programs in the country for many years. As one of the top music programs in the country with over 700 music majors and 100 faculty, ASU features excellent student ensembles, great facilities, and a world-class program of study that is one of the best educational bargains around. A wide variety of degrees are offered, including undergraduate degrees in performance, music education, and music therapy, the MM in performance, and the Doctor of Musical Arts. 

Highlights of horn study at ASU include: 

  • Weekly studio classes, performance classes, horn ensemble, frequent guest artists 
  • Affordable program with solid scholarship support available at all levels; you likely can graduate from ASU with minimal debt 
  • TA positions regularly open for new MM or DMA students 
  • Great facilities and ensembles, located in a large metropolitan area with many opportunities for motivated students 
  • And, there is no marching band requirement at Arizona State (but if interested we have a great one!)
